BKPM Receives a COVID-19 Donation Worth Rp1.18 Billion from Abill Korea

Jakarta, 25 June 2020 – Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) receives donations from Abill Korea Co., Ltd. in collaboration with the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA). The handover for donation of Rp1.18 billion (100 million Won) was done this morning (6/25) by KOTRA General Director Lee Jong Yoon to BKPM Deputy Chairman for Investment Promotion Ikmal Lukman.

BKPM is grateful for the great attention of investors during the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia. BKPM is also grateful for the cooperation that has been carried out by the Indonesian Embassy in Seoul, the South Korean Embassy in Indonesia, and the board of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise and other parties who have helped the delivery of donations from Abill Korea Co., Ltd.

"Representing the Government of Indonesia, we greatly appreciate and thank you for the donations given by Abill Korea through KOTRA. South Korea has an important role in the Indonesian economy. BKPM is committed to maintaining good relations between Indonesia and South Korea, especially through investment. This donation is certainly very useful for us in facing the current COVID-19 pandemic," Ikmal said in his speech.

In line with BKPM, KOTRA General Director Lee Jong Yoon said that Indonesia and South Korea have a very strong investment relationship and hope to continue to run well. "We hope that cooperation between Indonesia and South Korea can continue and have a positive impact on the people of Indonesia. KOTRA will continue to work closely with BKPM to help realize the investment of South Korean companies in Indonesia and support various activities so that investment from South Korea to Indonesia continues to run," said Lee Jong Yoon.

Nacific (Natural Pacific) is a natural cosmetic brand based in South Korea and has been exporting its products to Indonesia since 2016. The assistance provided to BKPM consists of 20,000 30-milliliter hand sanitizer bottles.

As of June 2020, BKPM has received and distributed donations from investors both domestic and foreign in the form of medical devices such as PCR (polymerase chain reaction) diagnostic test kits from the LG Group, Cap Lang hand sanitizers from PT Eagle Indo Pharma, ventilators from Hyundai, and donation of nutritious food packages from CJ Group. The donation is distributed by BKPM through BNPB (National Disaster Management Agency) and also through direct distribution to parties in need.
