We know Indonesia is one of the world’s top tourist destinations, but we can now also boast being one of the most attractive on Instagram.
When it comes to “gramworthy” places, there is an endless variety of beautiful areas across the globe, but which ones are best?
Global travel site Big 7 Travel has compiled the World’s Most Instagrammable Countries 2019, an official list of the top 10 places to capture the perfect picture.
Each country on the list was ranked in order of allure and popularity on social media. These factors were analyzed by looking at the number of hashtags per destination, feedback from an extensive survey of Big 7 Travel’s 1.5 million followers and votes by a panel of travel experts.
Indonesia made it into fourth place on the list with a rating of 81.1 percent, trailing behind Australia (89.98 percent), Hong Kong (86.99 percent) and Canada (82.84 percent.)

Instagram Still a Key Driver in Travel Trends
According to Big 7 Media, 67 percent of people it surveyed said they have visited a new destination after seeing it on their Instagram feed, while 61 percent have booked a specific hotel after seeing it on the popular photo and video-sharing social networking site.
“While printed guidebooks still have their uses, more and more tourists are using only Instagram for travel recommendations – 33 percent of people surveyed say they research their upcoming holiday destination via their Instagram feed,” Big 7 Media said in a statement last week.
“With 77 percent of people surveyed taking two to five holidays a year [including weekend breaks], the most popular travel content on social media is bucket list experiences and luxury hotels,” it said.
It is no surprise, considering that Indonesia is comprised of thousands of volcanic islands, including Bali. You will find everything, from breathtaking ocean views, mountain tops, and jungles, to Komodo dragons, orangutans and tigers, in the archipelago.
Basically, it is a paradise.
