Communication Network (Optical Fiber & Data Access) :

North Sulawesi Provincial Government has initiated Manado Cyber City program, as part of the accelerated development of information technology services in North Sulawesi. This program is part of the provincial government’s efforts to encourage the concept of smart city or a smart city in North Sulawesi, where Bitung has been declared ready to become a new Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Indonesia. South Sulawesi is one of the eight provinces that could access infrastructure development of broadband backbone network optical fiber of Sulawesi, Maluku, Papua Cable System (SMPCS) which has been initiated by the government. With an infrastructure length of 8.772 kilometers, SMPCS expected to replace satellite services that have been used in the voice and data telecommunication model in Eastern Indonesia, and accelerate the growth of communications services that can support the promotion of economic growth in the region.**

Electricity :

North Sulawesi get 11 power development projects of the development program targeted 35 GW government completed 2019 type generator is Power minihidro (MHP), Gas Engine Power Plant (PLTMG), and Steam Power (power plant). Some power plants that will be developed include: MHP Lelipang with a capacity of 0.5 MW and a target completion in 2018; PLTMG Tahuna on Sangihe with a capacity of 10 MW will be completed in 2018; MHP Duminanga with a capacity of 0.5 MW will be completed in 2018, and MHP Pidung capacity of 2.0 MW will be completed in 2019, both built by the private sector; MHP Ranowangko capacity of 2.2 MW will be completed in 2019; , MHP Duminanga 3.5 MW will be completed in 2017; Power Plant 3 in North Minahasa North Sulawesi with a capacity of 50 MW will be completed in 2019; `Peaker` PLTMG Minahasa in North Minahasa capacity of 150 MW will be completed in 2017; Sulabagut in South Minahasa power plant with capacity of 100 MW will be completed in 2016; Sulut 1 power plant with a capacity of 25 MW will be completed in 2018; and a power plant with the same capacity Sulut 1 will be completed in 2018. Electricity infrastructure development projects are expected to meet the needs of electricity consumption in North Sulawesi and Gorontalo, including a readiness of North Sulawesi to increase interest in investments in the region.***
